Our method
Always direct contact with the GP
Always a doctor on the phone
At General Practice Oostenburg you always communicate directly with a doctor. In many cases we can answer your questions directly by telephone. When you make a callback appointment via the web agenda, you can determine the time that suits you best. You can also schedule a call-back appointment or video call 24 hours a day by calling. Then call us on 020-8088008. Our call agenda schedules 6 days ahead, but also always reserves appointment slots for on the day itself. So call slots can always be found on the next working day. For a emergency you can always contact us directly, press 1: you will talk to us within office hours. directly, outside office hours you will automatically be transferred to the Amsterdam GP post.
No waiting times and plenty of time for the patient
Due to our way of working, the practice hardly has any waiting times and we can take 20 minutes as standard for a consultation. In practice you will also usually find an empty waiting room and no counter that is manned.
Patient portal
You also communicate with us via the patient portal on your smartphone, tablet or computer. With this (web) application you can easily schedule a physical consultation, call-back appointment or video call with one of the doctors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You can also ask a medical question via the patient portal (e-consultation), request repeat prescriptions, view your own test results or read letters from a specialist. In short, the patient portal helps you to arrange many things independently and gives you insight into your medical file. The application meets all legal requirements regarding privacy. Please do note that for the login procedure, a Dutch mobile number is needed. Alternatively, with the help of the Signal app (when set-up correctly) login codes can also be received.
Schedule short consultations directly for the practice
A regular (interactive) consultation in this practice always starts with a telephone or video call. There are also a number of topics for which you can immediately schedule a short (10 minute) consultation at the practice. To do this you must be logged in to the patient portal.
Short appointment:
Short consultations can be scheduled for topics mentioned in the portal. Examples of this are urine tests, earaches, sore throats, a therapeutic injection, freezing warts, syringing out ears, removing stitches, an STD consultation or having a smear test performed in the context of the Cervical Cancer Population Screening.
Appointment with assistant:
On Wednesday afternoon you can schedule an appointment with assistant Romina for: a blood pressure measurement, removing stitches, touching up warts, syringing out the ears (prepare for 2 days by dropping 2 drops of neutral oil twice a day), an STD consultation or a smear test in the context of the Cervical Cancer Population Screening.
Method of regular check-ups
We work with Viduet
Some patients need regular check-ups. This applies, for example, to people with diabetes or asthma, or those taking medications that require annual blood tests. We ensure that these check-ups take place on time and are well prepared. The practice does this in collaboration with the company Viduet.
If this applies to you, Viduet will send you e-mail messages on behalf of the practice. This message may be, for example, an invitation to complete a medical questionnaire or a request for you to schedule an appointment with us. If the appointment also requires additional testing, such as blood tests, you will receive this invitation via the usual route. Patients who don’t have an email address will continue to receive a personal invitation.
Collaborations
The practice has two important partnerships. We collaborate remotely withFlexdokters; a cooperative of general practitioners who support each other using current technology. If one of us is absent, you may need to speak to one of the Flexdokters colleague general practitioners for urgent matters. They can speak to you and help you remotely as far as possible. If your request for help requires a physical consultation, they will organize this with a general practice nearby.
The second collaboration concerns an emergency observation in the afternoon with four nearby general practices. If the emergency line is called, it will be answered by one of these practices. They can help you further, including any necessary physical consultation.
Flex Doctors working method
Your GP has a Flexdokters practice.
Our practice is affiliated with Flexdokters. A cooperative of general practices. This offers a number of advantages for patient and GP, where the relationship between GP and patient always comes first.
In a Flexdokters practice, patients have direct contact with their GP. Great, because this way you only have to tell your story once. Your question can often be answered immediately. Doesn’t that work? Then you make a follow-up appointment at the practice with your GP. Handy, because this means you don’t have to come to the practice for every question.
We ask you to schedule appointments yourself. Because we work by appointment only, there are hardly any waiting times and you will usually find a quiet waiting room. This ensures a lot of peace and quiet in the practice and during your consultation with the doctor. Pleasant for you and for the doctor.
Arrange yourself
You can arrange many things yourself online on this website. To help you as best as possible, we have clearly presented the most important information below.
- If you want to make an appointment with your GP, you can do so online. This can be done at any time of the day and week. So you no longer have to wait on the phone or at the counter.
- You can also easily ask a question or send a photo via the website. Useful for non-urgent questions or if you want to send a photo of, for example, a spot on your skin.
- Request a repeat prescription, view your medical file or results? You no longer have to call the practice for this. You can arrange all this via the website in the portal.
FAQ
These frequently asked questions have been compiled based on questions we receive frequently. By providing the answers here, we save you the trouble of contacting us and we GPs have fewer interruptions in our work with patients. Practical Information
In the first phase of the practice, a unique collaboration was chosen with the Inntel Hotel, Landmark in Oostenburg. Patients can be seen in a hotel room that has been transformed into a fully equiped consultation room. Patients report to the hotel reception and receive a pass to take the elevator to the 12th floor where chairs are placed in front of the practice room.
Consultation of patients with a Dutch health insurance are directly declared at the health insurance.
